Custom software built around you

Off the shelf software makes you work the way the program assumes you work. We do the opposite: the system is shaped around how you actually run the business.

Most companies that come to us have already tried the ready made route. One system for bookings, one for invoicing, one for contracts, and a spreadsheet holding together everything none of them handle. That works until volume grows. Then double entry gets expensive, the numbers stop matching between systems, and nobody can say which record is the true one.

Custom software does not mean everything is built from scratch. We reuse what we have already built: sign in, roles, permissions, payment, invoice data, error reporting, reports. The time goes into what is specific to you, meaning your rules, your exceptions and your flows. That is why owning a system today is not the multi year saga it used to be.

We do not start with a requirements document. We sit with the person doing the work today, follow one job all the way through the business, and build that path first. You see something running early, tell us what is wrong, and we keep going in short rounds. Roles and permissions are enforced in the database, not just in the interface, so what a user must not see cannot be reached even with the right address.

What you get

  • A system that follows how you work instead of breaking it, including the exceptions no standard product will admit exist.
  • Something running early, so you find the mistakes while they are still cheap to change.
  • Roles and permissions enforced in the database, per user, per function and per company.
  • Integrations with what you already use, so nobody enters the same detail twice.
  • Audit log, backups and error reporting built in from the start, not bolted on later.
  • A choice between a fixed price where you own the code and a low monthly fee where we own it.

When it fits

  • We run four programs that do not talk to each other, and one person holds it together with a spreadsheet.

  • Our business system handles everything except the part that is actually our business, and that part is manual.

  • We pay for modules nobody opens and still lack the one function we really need.

Two ways to own it

You decide how you pay for what we build. Both routes give you the same system.

You own the solution

One fixed price, paid once. The code is yours, we hand over the source and you can take it anywhere, with us or without us. A good fit if you want control and an investment that becomes a real asset on your books.

We own the code

A low monthly fee and no upfront investment. We handle hosting, updates and continuous improvements. A good fit if you want to get going quickly without tying up capital, and would rather have a cost you can switch off than an investment you have to write down.

Not sure which one? We will talk it through with you, free of charge.

Common questions

Is building your own not more expensive than buying?
Not always. A ready made system carries a licence cost that grows with headcount, plus the hours everyone spends working around what does not fit. A custom system costs more up front and then costs to run. We work through both routes with you before you decide.
How long until we have something live?
Weeks rather than months for the first real version. You see something running within days, and we put the part that helps most into live use first instead of waiting until everything is finished.
What if we want to change supplier later?
On the fixed price route you own the code and we hand over the source, the database and the documentation. You can take it to anyone. We do not build things that are deliberately hard to leave.
